The Paradise Story

The Paradise Story began with a little spark, which fired into a grand influence.

In 2002, the little spark that was Seafood Paradise was a humble 25-seater coffee shop located in Defu Lane in an inconspicuous industrial area. In many ways, it lacked glitz and glamour but the taste it offered more than made up for it. The foodies in Singapore came in droves for the sumptuous yet reasonably-priced cuisine.

Spurred by this success, Eldwin Chua created a brand new restaurant concept Taste Paradise. With a menu of traditional Cantonese cuisine and an array of exquisite dim sum, the brand garnered a local fan base as well as media affirmation.

Being a culinary enthusiast and a visionary entrepreneur, Eldwin continues to grow the Paradise brand while keeping firm his belief in creating great food at good value.

With more than 12 well-received restaurant concepts, the Paradise empire grew rapidly to operate more than 150 restaurants worldwide. Apart from our restaurants, Paradise Group also has a catering arm that brings the irresistible taste of Paradise to private homes and corporate functions. The brand continues to be embraced by many and its flames are invigorated by your support. Let your discerning palates embrace the wonders of Paradise.

    Started as a “Zi Char” stall – Seafood Paradise in Defu Lane.

  • 2006


    Taste Paradise, a full-fledged Chinese restaurant concept was created.

  • 2008


    Establishment of Paradise Group Holdings and embarkation of a corporate and professional structure.

  • 2009


    Launched the 3rd concept, Paradise Classic, and opened 3 outlets.

  • 2010


    Launched 2 more concepts – Paradise Dynasty & Canton Paradise.

    Opened 8 outlets.

    Commence venture into Malaysia.

  • 2016

    2011 – 2016

    Won Singapore Prestige Brand Award 2011, SME1 Asia Awards 2011 and Enterprise 50 Awards 2011.

    Expanded fleet of restaurants by 40 new outlets, and started Paradise Teochew, Beauty in The Pot, ParaThai, Paradise Hotpot and LeNu to offer variety of Asian cuisines.

    Ventured into Indonesia, China, Japan, China (Hong Kong), Chinese Taipei, Philippines and Myanmar.

    2017 – 2019

    Started LèTen offering halal Chinese cuisine, and Le Shrimp Ramen – first shrimp broth ramen in Singapore.

    Expanded into China and other Asian markets with multiple dining concepts, and achieved 100 restaurants globally.

  • 2020 – 2022

    2020 – 2022

    Opened the first 2 restaurants outside of Asia, in USA.

    Re-designed company’s business strategy, moved towards better efficiency and higher productivity with digitalisation.

    Completion and officially moved into Paradise Group IHQ (international headquarters).
